JF Cruz is a Philippine-qualified lawyer with more than a decade of legal experience spanning private practice and senior in-house roles across technology, e-commerce, financial services, banking and other regulated industries.
His practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, technology and digital regulation, and regulatory compliance, with particular experience in data protection, digital platforms, fintech and financial services, commercial transactions and technology-related matters.
He has advised businesses on complex commercial and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions in Southeast Asia, including work involving data protection, technology agreements, digital platforms, payments and financial services.
His experience combines traditional legal practice with a strong understanding of how technology-driven businesses operate, allowing him to provide advice that is practical, commercially informed and responsive to evolving regulatory requirements.
His legal practice is complemented by advanced specialization in technology law. He holds an LLM in Law, Innovation and Technology from King’s College London, where he graduated with Distinction, and an LLM in Internet Technologies from Bocconi University, where he graduated cum laude.
He obtained his law degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law and his undergraduate degree from the Ateneo de Manila University. He is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E).
